FSRCC doctors awarded the Order of Pirogov
Boris Barankin, Director General of the Federal Siberian Research Clinical Centre (FSRCC, FMBA of Russia), and the doctors Ekaterina Kravchenko and Aleksey Chebrikov were awarded the Order of Pirogov for organization and provision of medical care to patients with the novel coronavirus infection SARS-CoV-2 by order of the President of the Russian Federation.
The Order of Pirogov is the new award in the Russian healthcare. It was established on June 19, 2020 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. it is awarded to Russian and foreign medical specialists and volunteers for their contribution to the fight against epidemics, the development of treatment methods and drugs, and for saving patients’ lives.
Boris Barankin, Director General of the FSRCC, FMBA of Russia, and the specialists of the medical institution – Aleksey Chebrikov, Head of the Emergency Medical Department, and Ekaterina Kravchenko, Director for Epidemiological Work – were awarded high prizes for their dedication in medical care provision in emergency situations, epidemics, military operations and other life-threatening circumstances.
Starting April 23, 5 infectious hospitals with a total capacity of 475 beds were opened by the Federal Siberian Research Clinical Centre. 4 hospitals are located in Krasnoyarsk, the 5th was set up in the village of Yeruda, Severo-Yeniseysky District.
More than 800 patients with Covid-19 were treated over the entire work period.
