Cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia (EMERCOM)

The FSRCC provides medical support for activities undertaken by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters in eliminating natural disasters and other emergency situations consequences within the whole territory of the Siberian, Ural and Far Eastern Federal Districts.

Boris V. Barankin, the Director General of FSRCC is the chief specialist of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia in civil defense and emergency situations.

As part of the Siberian Search and Rescue Team EMERCOM of Russia, an emergency response team of the FSRCC successfully passed the international certification of INSARAG, confirming its readiness to deal with the consequences of emergencies in any country all over the world.

Specialists of the FSRCC took part in the elimination of such major emergencies as the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP (2009), the explosion at the Raspadskaya mine in the Kemerovo Region (2010), fires in the Tomsk Region (2012 year), flood in the Far Eastern District (2013). Medical specialists provided medical assistance to displaced persons in the Rostov Region who suffered from the crash of a Mi-8 helicopter in the Turukhansk, Krasnoyarsk Region (2015). A combined emergency response team of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia rendered assistance in organizing medical assistance to victims of a fire in the Zimniaya Vishnia shopping center in Kemerovo (2018).
